We are excited to share the summary report from the 2015 Timi-Kurm event. In 2015, Timi-Kurm took the form of a ‘Marine Turtle and Mammal Training Workshop‘, primarily for frontline staff from the Gujarat Forest Department and other coastal wildlife monitors and biologists. The workshop was held in Mithapur, Gujarat in December 2015.
The workshop was focused on frontline staff from various Forest Departments across India, who routinely monitor beaches and are responsible for the welfare of many marine organisms. The overall goal of the workshop was to educate and equip frontline officials with basic field techniques in sea turtle and marine mammal research and monitoring, and to deal with marine mammal strandings.
The workshop was co-organized by: The Gujarat Forest Department, GEER Foundation, Terra Marine Research Institute, Prakruthi Nature Club, Denzil Linhares-PADI-India Course Director, Tata Chemicals, and Green Future Foundation
